CF joins hand with A-PAD Sri Lanka in a campaign to Combat Excessive Heat

19 August 2017 by CF Admin

Sri Lanka faced its worst heat since April this year with sun directly above the island contributing to the increased temperature day and night. With the declining water levels in reservoirs generating hydro power, the country underwent few power cuts. Warm weather experienced unlike in previous years brought concerns over its effect on young children and elderly

A-PAD team designed visuals portraying preventive measures to mitigate the impact of extreme weather conditions in collaboration with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Ministry of Health.

In seeking partnership the initiative was later supported by conglomerates such as MAS intimates, Brandix and Central Finance. With the initial handover made to Director General of Disaster Management center an extensive campaign is underway by A-PAD Colombo and district teams to take the message to a wider audience in creating resilient communities. Laminated posters (“17”* “22”) and leaflets (size A4) are promoted in three languages across the island
