Central Finance Company PLC welcomes Mr. Arjuna Gunaratne as the Managing Director with effect from 01st July 2024 with the retirement of Mr. Eranjith Wijenaike.
Mr. Arjuna Gunaratne was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Central Finance Company PLC in 2020 and has served on the Board since 2002. In addition to holding board positions within the CF Group including Tea Smallholder Factories PLC and Central Industries PLC, he previously served on the board of directors of Nations Trust Bank PLC initially in the capacity of a Non-Executive Director and later as the Chairman, prior to completing his nine-year term at the Bank. He serves as a Council Member of the Finance Houses Association of Sri Lanka and represents the Association on the Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Gunaratne is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK.
Mr. Prasanna de Silva assumed the role of Deputy Managing Director with effect from 01st July 2024. Mr. de Silva previously functioned as the Chief Operating Officer of the Company and has served as an Executive Director on the Board since 2011. He also serves as a director of several unquoted companies within the CF Group. Mr. de Silva is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK and has completed all examinations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme.
Mr. Mahen De Saram was appointed to the Board on 01st July 2024 as a Non – Executive Director. Mr. De Saram currently functions as the Group Finance Director of the CBL Group of Companies. He counts over 30 years of experience in the corporate sector including over 15 years gained internationally. With a rich exposure to diverse business environments and practices, Mr. De Saram possesses expertise in general business management, finance, corporate governance, and digital transformation. Mr. De Saram is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK and a Member of Certified Practicing Accountants – Australia.
Mr. Eranjith Wijenaike will continue to serve on the Board as a Non – Executive Director with effect from 01st July 2024. Mr. Wijenaike has served on the Board since 1983 and as the Managing Director/CEO of the Company since 01st April 1996.
The Board of Directors of Central Finance Company PLC from 01st July 2024 will comprise of Mr. A.D.B. Talwatte (Chairman), Mr. A.K. Gunaratne (Managing Director), Mr. D.P. de Silva (Deputy Managing Director), Dr. (Mrs.) A.D.N. de Zoysa, Mr. A.R. Fernando, Mr. C.K. Hettiarachchi, Mr. K.B. Herath, Mr. M.H. de Silva, Mr. E.H. Wijenaike and Mr. M.S. De Saram.
